Susan is committed to walking beside children, families, individuals and couples as they navigate all of life’s challenges and transitions. Susan’s approach involves looking at how our relationships and experiences shape our current situation. She believes that together we can improve communication and relationships, foster individual growth, and instill hope for the future. Her previous experience has largely been focused on family therapy, providing intensive in-home treatment to children and teens along with their families, focusing on attachment and interrupting and replacing usual patterns. She also has experience working in a long-term residential home, providing care for adults aged 18-75, with a range of emotional needs. Susan lived in southern Africa for several years, and has experience of helping to break down perceived walls between people groups, establishing healthy community instead. Areas Susan can address include anxiety, couples issues, parenting struggles, family therapy, and cultural transition.
When not providing therapy or finishing up her graduate degree, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, playing games and reading with her kids, gardening, biking and finding other reasons to be outdoors. She also loves going to new places, learning about other cultures and traditions. Susan values being genuine, and this is what you’ll find in her approach to life as well as to therapy.
